Hi RH,

I don't get migraines very often, but I do have strange neuro episodes

that they think may be autonomic. Two years ago, Dr H-P wanted to rule

out seizures and other things, so she did a SPECT scan. (different

than an MRS). While having an episode, it showed that I have diminished

perfusion to the occipital and parietal lobes. A month later, when I

felt better, it was completely normal. Dr H-P said this is an indicator

that my brain isn't getting enough energy during those episodes. I

wonder if migraines would show similar results.

TENS unit and non-traditional pain control / SPECT

My former advisor at school used a TENS unit for pain control, and

found it worked well for her. Has anyone had success with that or

other non-traditional pain control techniques (TM, acupuncture, yoga)?

Also, has anyone with migraines had a SPECT, especially during an

episode? It would be interesting if lactate buildup in the brain

could be a cause of pain either directly or indirectly.

Take care,

RH
