Guest guest
Hello, I am wondering if acne is characteristic for RSS. Maartje has acne for three years now (she is 11 years and 5 months). the last months it is very severe. We go often to the doctor (dermatologe) but still we haven't found a remedie. She is very sad about it. At school they laugh and talk about her. It's a very hard time for her at this moment. greetings, Milou (from Holland)
Guest guest
Milou, I think acne is pretty typical for any 11 year old. My understanding is that acne typically happens when children are in puberty and you said your daughter was eight when it began. This would be an area of concern to me since she was young when her acne began, as you would want to delay puberty as much as possible to help her final adult height. I am no expert in this area, so others might want to chime in here. In terms of dealing with acne, I have suffered from it (and still do). I have been on a lot of different drugs to try and help it. What works best for me is the prescription Minocylcin (taken orally) and Retin-A which is a cream available in the U.S. I also use a cleanser called Cetaphil available without a prescription. Unfortunately, it takes a while for treatment to show if it is working and then if it doesn't you have to start all over again. Best of luck, Alison > Hello, > I am wondering if acne is characteristic for RSS. Maartje has acne for three years now (she is 11 years and 5 months). the last months it is very severe. Guest guest
Ditto what Alison said. And hey, Alison - I am on Minocyclin too!!! In fact, I just went off of it after a year, because the dr said " too long " but BAM, acne came back in full force, so he is being nice and I am back on it, and within 2 weeks, my skin is already almost completely clear..... One antibiotic, incredible! And I am 40 years old!!! > > Hello, > > I am wondering if acne is characteristic for RSS. Guest guest
I don't know if this will help or if someone has told you before but with some females putting them on Ortho Tri-Cyclen might just help. Ask the doctor, just a suggestion. > Hello, > I am wondering if acne is characteristic for RSS. Maartje has acne for three years now (she is 11 years and 5 months). the last months it is very severe.
