She was getting horrible foot and leg cramps from month 7 on. The normal prenatal vitamins are good but extra folic acid and potassium is better (so her obgyn said). I'm not sure how it would compare to the RX iron but my iron has stayed around 12 and my high risk doctor said he was really pleased with that - for me being pregnant that your iron usually goes down. Hope this helps. I think I paid $7 - 8 dollars for it.
