your local GNC store should be able to suggest something.. I know my wife went

there to get some potassium pills during her pregnancy. She was getting horrible

foot and leg cramps from month 7 on. The normal prenatal vitamins are good but

extra folic acid and potassium is better (so her obgyn said).

I just use SLOW FE over the counter. I buy it at Walmart. I'm not

sure how it would compare to the RX iron but my iron has stayed

around 12 and my high risk doctor said he was really pleased with

that - for me being pregnant that your iron usually goes down.

Hope this helps. I think I paid $7 - 8 dollars for it.
