Tommy had a colonoscopy yesterday (he was such a trooper, did much better

with the whole procedure than I had imagined), and is now completely " cleaned

out " . I'd like to start him on pro-biotics immediately, and have run out of

the usual brand which I mail-order. Which health food store brands would be

acceptable on the diet? Thanks ,

Culturelle is one of the best brands. We get it at Long's Drugs in our part

of the country.

Betty,

What is it about Culturelle that makes it the best?

Jeannie,

Personally, I think Kirkman's pro bio gold is the best due to multiple

strains of good bacteria, yeast and bacteria fighter, gfcf, etc. Tested and

suppose to be high quality, adheres to mucosal lining etc. We give my son

one in the morning and one at night and it works well. Have to order it

from Kirkmans though. More stress on the budget though but a part of this

whole diet really. hang in there,

EnZymAid is Kirkman's second generation product similar to Lactobacillus

GG/Culturelle. With Kirkman's you have to refrigerate it. With Culturelle,

each capsule is separately sealed so that it does not have to be

refrigerated. You can carry a package with you every where. I had a couple

that got punctured and the ingredients shriveled up to hard useless solid

substance. I certainly knew that particular capsule was useless and it

proved to me the difference between the good and bad capsules. I have also

used EnZymAid. In fact it is the last one that we have used. I have heard

some say that Culturelle is stronger but I do not remember just who said it.

It is not always easy to find Culturelle because not every drug store

carries it but Kirkmanlabs is just as far away as your computer or

telephone.

Yup, perhaps you did not catch my correction. Up too late on the computer is my

only defense.

Re: GFCF probiotics

Betty, just checking, but are you comparing Kirkman's PROBIOGOLD with

Culturelle? I thought Enzymaid was for breaking down gluten and casein

proteins and I didn't know it needed to be refrigerated.

Sorry Betty, I did not get the correction until after I sent the post. I

can so relate to the late nights on the computer - it almost makes you

wonder how we ever did without it :)
