Guest guest
Hello all! I just joined and am thinking of starting a G & C free diet soon. We began the Feingold diet (no artifical colors, flavors or preservatives, etc..) 2 weeks ago and I may need to dig deeper. I have 5 children but 2 are the reason I began this diet journey. My almost 3 YO is my big problem. Since a VERY young age I wondered if he had a mild form of Autism. As an infant he would hit his head with his hand whenever he nursed and had a hard time with eye contact. He no longer does the head banging but the eye contact thing comes and goes. He nursed until 18 months and he had reflux symptoms at 4 months so I removed all dairy from my diet and it went away. I slowly re-introduced it and he did fine. Now at almost 3 he has good verbal skills but some days are better than others - some days he seems to think and talk on a deeper level. His main " symptoms " are - he gets down right miserable for long periods of time - he will be agressive, violent, MEAN, throws things, screams, I can't talk to him - he won't let me hold him even when he gets like this, he cries a LOT and says he is sick (not always - just during his meltdown). NOTHING helps when he is like this and I cannot pin-point what causes these meltdowns. He has an ear infection and runny nose that won't go away, can't tolerate loud noises, sleep problems, really loose stools ALWAYS and you cannot reason with him when he is having one of those days. My 9 YO is my other child with strange symptoms - he has red ears, always constipated, eczema, dark eye circles, insensitive to pain, sensitive to noise, hyper, sleepwalking, obsessive spinning of objects/self and he can be violent also. Anyway - I guess I just wanted to introduce myself. I will be learning from you experienced parents before I begin. Amy
