Guest guest
We are getting ready to start a GFCF yeast elimination diet. We are looking at Dr. Bruce Semon's diet because it eliminates food in 4 stages, not all at once. He claims in Shaw's book, on page 166, that " ...butter is acceptable. Butter in small amounts is acceptable because butter is a fat which does not contain the protein casein. " He says this in the context of a GFCF diet. How can that be? How can something made from milk, albeit the milk fat, not contain casein? Do any of you allow butter on the diet? Butter is on all the bad food lists I have seen. Is this guy full of crap? I certainly don't want to follow his advice if he doesn't know what he's talking about. Bill Father to , 4 yo ASD Toney, Alabama
Guest guest
Bill, do not throw the baby out with the bath water. None of us agree with EVERY thing that ANY one says. Dr. Semon is going with what has worked for his son and his patients. I will not use butter. I have not even used the Ghee that I made. yet. Follow your gut feeling on this. Guest guest
Dr. Semon does say use butter because it is natural and not margarine which 'has a host of problems.' --Betty ----- Original Message ----- > I have never heard that butter is okay.
