Guest guest
Hi Everyone Just wanted to let you know that Finlay had his first GH shot last night (genotropin). He was fantastic - didn't flinch, didn't make a sound and went running down the hall to choose his next story after it was done - here's hoping we get a repeat performance tonight!! The rep came to se us yesterday to show us how it all works and to get us started - as part of the training Mark and I both injected ourselves (no fluid went in we just stuck the needle into our legs and held it there for a few seconds) so I can honestly tell you hand on heart that it really does not hurt that much - I expect it will be a bit more painful for Finlay though as he has less " padding " than Mark and me!!! but I felt really relaxed about giving him the shot having felt it myself. I really think that the finger pricker he uses to test his blood sugar levels is more painful than the genotropin pen device. Anyway I really feel like yesterday was the start of a whole new chapter in Finlay's life - I'm really excited about this and just can't wait to see the results!! And for those of you who know our long long GH funding saga - the battle is far from over - we are paying for the GH ourselves while we continue to lobby for change to the funding criteria in NZ Best wishes to you all New Zealand Finlay 4yrs, RSS, 93cms, 12.5kgs, g-tube, cisapride, GH (genotropin)

Really happy for you all and hope the shots continue to go well - we think the the pen is a great device too and rarely complains about his shots. Guest guest
--Hi , wow I am so glad to hear that it is going good on gh. I have to pick which device I want to use for they are starting on it as soon as I pick. I have looked up several different options but still haven't picked yet!! Do you remember me and from the convention? I gave you the pullups? is perfectly pottytrained now and is so excited on wearing his underwear !! Thank goodness for Dr. H telling him that and pottytraining him while we were there!! Are you planning on coming to the convention this year? I would love to go but we have to see how things are going! So the gh you choose is it a pen device? I am still all new at this and have gotten some good advice on here of different ones but still can't choose. He hates to be poked and how you described it sounds like it might not be that bad after all!!!Well get back to me and well this sure doea help by you just starting to!! maybe we can talk later about it some more. Hugs .. 5 in April 25 pounds and 35 inches!!
