Guest guest
Yippee! Re:'s Hours Reduced! Well I emailed pictures of 's feet yesterday to Dr.P and since I had not heard from him by the afternoon i decided to call and ask Joyce. Well someone else answered and put me through to dr.p. he said when i called they were just going over samantha's pictures and he said her feet looked wonderful! that was such a relief to hear! i was beggining to feel a little worried about how her feet looked but he said they looked great. so today is her last day of 23hours. he said she could be out of her brace for 4-6hrs for 2 weeks then out 8 hrs for 2 weeks until we finally get to just night/nap. you cant imagine how good it felt to hear him tell me all this. maybe now she can practice a little more on walking. i asked him about her delayed walking and once again he told me not to worry until she is 18months and not walking. i also mentioned to him that to me she had weak leg muscles. he said it was b/c she has been in casts for so long. it didnt seem to worry him at all. i sent him a picture of her dancing in the brace and he thought it was cute and funny! i thought i would share our joy with everyone! and BL CF 12/16/03 's 23/7 last day!! Guest guest
and -- I am so happy for you! Yeah! Our little guy also got a late start in the FAB. He didn't walk until 16 months--which is still in the " normal " range. We were just so eager to see him walking. Now he runs away from me at the park and I'm tempted to say " Get back here, you! You're lucky you can walk at all. " Remind me, does have a-typical clubfeet? Here's to happy feet! She too got a late start, she started in the markells at 8 months with a doc that said he followed the ponseti method but didnt. and so we took her to dr.p at 1 year old in december and so she started very late in the FAb. dr. p only had her do the 23/7 for 6 weeks and im so glad it is over. yesterday was her first day for more than an hour or so and she played and played and really enjoyed it. so hopefully she will build up her leg muscles so she can begin to walk! and BL CF 12/16/03 mithcell's 20/7 lisa caroland __________________________________________________
Guest guest
she doesn't really pay any attention to the casts... she's had them on one leg or another for so long... but they are getting a little tight around her toes... i'm a little nervous about that.. if she wasn't going this week then i would be trying to get them off sooner... i am really nervous about the braces... she is so mobile with the cruising and she won't be able to do that and i am afraid of how angry that is going to make her... but hopefully it will only be one month that she has to wear them and not longer... we take her back to dr dobbs after a month and he will make the decision then if she gets to reduce... and yes... it will be dr dobbs designed brace... it has a lot more motion than the DBB so i think it might be better for her age... we will see... she has been trying to balance herself and take steps this last week with the casts on... so i think she will walk very soon after she's allowed out of the brace... but it has flown by pretty quickly hasn't it..!!! congrats again on samantha's reduced time!!! mommy to Grace 12-03-03 BCF michelle andyandsamanthamom@...> wrote: Wow i cant belive she will have her casts removed already. so is she miserable w/ the casts? samantha got so miserable the last few days, she couldnt sleep or take naps so we removed them 2 days before the 3wks. dr.p said that was ok as long as it was not before 2 1/2 weeks but poor thing she was just miserable. she will get the new brace of dr. dobbs, right? im so excited for you! i bet she will do great and before you know it she will be done with the 23/7! Best Wishes! and BL CF 12/16/03 mitchells 20/7 lisa caroland __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Fortunately babies are very adaptive! She'll figure out how to be mobile in the DBB pretty quick I imagine. s.
