Guest guest
Shalonda, Give it some more time. RIght now you are in shock. I didn't think I would be able to get pregnant from complications but sure enough, now I would not trade it for the world! You are in my prayers, Josie
Guest guest
I have seen many on this group become suddenly fertile after this surgery. I just warned a friend who does NOT want anymore tog et on something because she is getting hte surgery next month and her OB told her she did not need anything because of PCOS too and I forwarded her a couple letters from expecting new mommies who had it too and she is getting on something. I think you will be fine, exspecially since you wanteed babies. it just takes a bit of getting adjusted to it. I was told I could not have any after years of infertility and when i ddi get pregnant I don;t think it ever really sank in until I gave birth. Eat as well as you can and take all your vitamins and ask your doc about prenatals and folic acid. i take ALL of them and you should do just fine. Youare not too early post op for babies, many come here just a couple months out of surgery. i wish you all the best of luck and welcome to the group. Guest guest
Shalonda, Your story is so close to mine!! I got pregnant 13 months post-op, not planned unmarried. I only gained 2 pounds during my pregnancy. The baby gained and I maintained my weight. 4 hours after delivery I was down 14 pounds. You will do fine, your boyfriend is supportive and that is really important. My boyfriend and I were already having problems when I conceived and things just didn't work out. I am now married and have had another child. Good luck and know there are people here for you!!! Cheryl Fobi pouch 11-6-97 down 263 pounds Mom to a 18 4 Ricky 2 Needing some support here Hello everyone, Hi, my name is Shalonda and I am new to this group. I had RNY on 9/11/03 and so far I have had a very sucessful losing period. I have gone from a tight 26/28 to a nice 10 and very happy. I just started to see the plastic surgeons for consults on reconstructive surgery. But much to my suprise I am 6 weeks pregnant. This was not planned. I am not married (but was planning on getting engaged in June). I am so scared. Just 7 months post op and knocked up. I have seen my GYN doc on Friday to reconfirm the test and yep it was most certainly positive. Ironic, I use to sit and cry because I thought I would never have kids (complications from obesity, with poly cystic ovary disease and having lost an ovary 6 years ago) and now I am sitting here crying because I am pregnant. I want to have kids just didnt think it would happen like this. Abortion is not an option for me. I dont believe in it. My boyfriend has been extremely supportive and helpful with the news. Although we have only had a few days to get use to it. So gang, any help/advice/support is greatly appreciated. I do have my appointments to see the OB and the specialist group (for high risk patients). They are going to have a special nutritionist follow me. I just wanted to check in and get some help. ~thanks~ Shalonda Children are a blessing, and a gift from the Lord. -Psalm 127:3 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
