Guest guest
I just wanted to let people know that I had a scheduled doctor's visit this morning (I was 10.5 weeks and 5 months post-op gastric bypass) and found out that I had miscarried. The baby is still present, however, there was no heartbeat on the ultrasound. The baby also should have been about 35mm long and was only about 14. The doctor tried to assure me that it was nothing I did or the WLS or anything - just that 20 percent of pregnancies end this way, but I still feel terrible. It's so hard to say good bye. I have never had an experience like this before. I have a D&C scheduled for tomorrow at 4pm. In a few days I'm going to stop reading the group for a while. We're definitely going to wait until I'm at least a year out from surgery before we " try " to get pregnant again. I just don't think I can think about babies for a while. Thanks for all you help, support and wisdom in these weeks. Good luck to all of you. Alison Hand
