Guest guest
Donna K Migraines are definitely common in mito. Once she gets rid of the headache, maybe she will take Vit. B2. She might not associate it with mito. It is used for headache prevention in the general population as well as in mito. Good luck. I know what you mean about teens and denial. laurie > Hi, > I have a question do headaches go with mito my 16 year old daughter has complained of a headache for 2 days. She also says she is so tired and feels like she has no energy. She is back in school for now has been turtored at home last year she does have an IEP, and I can't get her to take any advil or her COQ10 and vitamins. I wonder if something isn't going on I am getting a little concerned I told her if they are not going to get better she will have to go to the doctor. She also does not want to hear anything about mito her 20 year old brother is more severe she thinks there is nothing wrong with her when she had all the testing and came back at greater than 95% with mito. We were told at one time by a doctor that she could feel this way about the mito issues cause she is afraid she will end up like her brother. Any advice would help thanks. > Hugs, > Donna K > > > > > Medical advice, information, opinions, data and statements contained herein are not necessarily those of the list moderators. Guest guest
My son is almost 17. He's had a headache for seven years. He thinks the mito cocktail is worthless and stupid. We watch him take his meds or he'll throw them out. We MAKE him. He has absolutely no choice at all. Guest guest
, I had a thought that I wanted to mention to you. Does you son sleep with either a down or feather pillow? The reason I ask is it got cool a couple of nights ago and instead of turning on the furnace, my daughter and I put our down comforters on our beds. We both woke up soon after going to sleep with headaches. I remember that most of the winter I wake up with a headache. I assume it is an allergy to the down. Just thought I would pass that on. Guest guest
My 52 year old still can't sleep/lay on a feather/down pillow or comforter and once some kind of blanket even set his asthma off plus he had gone to the eye doctor about new glasses due to headaches (which he never had before) the eye doctor said his eyes were fine and to make sure if he had recently gotten a cat that could be the problem and a stray persian had been in his front yard and he fed it and " talked " to it while his wife called the " lost ad " and they were waiting for the owner's to show up. It was getting chilly out and he had his jacket on while he was waiting for the owner's to show up. He said he should have taken the reward to pay for his eye doctor bill (ha). Guest guest
, I have to agree with you on this. I do know that down can cause problems for anyone with allergies. I also know that cold air can cause someone to wake up with a sinus headache. Additionally, waking up with headaches can be a sign of sleep apnea. This is due (from what I understand) to the lack of oxygen to the brain that happens when a person with apnea stops breathing - even if it's only for a few seconds. I know that my continual headaches stopped as soon as I started using CPAP for my apnea. If the headaches are migraines, they may need to be treated with an anti-seizure med which would be prescribed by a neuro usually. These are very common with mito and rarely if ever does the mito cocktail help with relief. Alice http://www.cihear.com > , > > I had a thought that I wanted to mention to you. Guest guest
Donna K Thanks for asking about my dad. He is back in the hospital near his house. They didn't keep him here, but he was admitted yesterday. He has pulmonary hypertension and congestive heart failure and doesn't take his meds, so gets worse after leaving the hospital. My sibs and I are hoping he will agree to have Hospice involved, but he is stubborn, so who knows. laurie > Hi Laurie, > I will try to get her to take the vitamin B I have told her how much better she would feel she claims she does not like to take pills thanks for responding and take care by the way how is your Dad doing? > Hugs, > Donna K > ---- Laurie Fitzgerald laurie.fitzgerald@...> wrote: > > Donna K > > > > Migraines are definitely common in mito. When they get to be 85, they are much like teen-agers - at least he is. laurie > Laurie, > I am very sorry to hear about your Dad I will keep him and your faomily in my thpoughts and prayers.
