Guest guest
You really should continue with the Periactin even though Colin is sick. His appetite may be down, but it will come back more quickly if you stick with it. Also, it should help a bit with his cold because it is an antihistamine, but you can use other cold meds along with it because you are not giving him enough Periactin to overdose him. The other thing you can do is try to get your pediatrician to prescribe a cough medicine with codeine to help control the cough. Ours used to do that for us because Max would reflux more, sometimes throw up from coughing and the stress on the button site was too much for him. Supressing that cough would be to Colin's benefit. By the way, in some states you can buy Robitussin with Codeine over the counter if you ask the pharmacist. I know that chains like CVS do not do it, but a local pharmacy should if it is legal where you live. Jodi Z.
