You really should continue with the Periactin even though Colin is

sick. His appetite may be down, but it will come back more quickly

if you stick with it. Also, it should help a bit with his cold

because it is an antihistamine, but you can use other cold meds

along with it because you are not giving him enough Periactin to

overdose him.

The other thing you can do is try to get your pediatrician to

prescribe a cough medicine with codeine to help control the cough.

Ours used to do that for us because Max would reflux more, sometimes

throw up from coughing and the stress on the button site was too

much for him. Supressing that cough would be to Colin's benefit.

By the way, in some states you can buy Robitussin with Codeine over

the counter if you ask the pharmacist. I know that chains like CVS

do not do it, but a local pharmacy should if it is legal where you

live.
