Guest guest
I think Yahoo is generally slow right now. It seems that the overall internet has slowed down, perhaps because of the new virus threat. It seems to happen a lot when a new virus comes out. Thanks for noticing and your willingness to help Laurie. You are a jewel and always there for everyone. Guest guest
Since I subscribe by mail digest (supposedly every day or 25 messages, whichever comes first) I can't say about speed of individual delivery. However I have noticed lately that the digests are sometimes out of order. For example, I just received #3920 at 9:42 PM 10/7/05, but #3921 came in at 1:43 PM earlier the same day. This has happened intermittently for a while now, in fact a few weeks ago the order was downright scrambled for several days in a row, something like 2, 4, 3, 1. Confusing to read replies to posts I didn't recall seeing. Even more confusing when replies are short and the replied-to posts have been snipped. Just like I requested a while ago, ha ha on me. :-) Fortunately the digests are numbered, so after getting royally confused for a bit, I then notice the numbers being out of order and more or less figure it out. I've noticed that the mixed-up arrival order usually occurs when there is fairly little activity, Hey, we should insist on getting our money's worth. :-) Steve D. > Date: Wed, 5 Oct 2005 13:09:02 -0400 > > Subject: slow list > > Hi all > > It seems as if it is taking forever for posts to hit the list, even > after they hit the web site. Guest guest
Well, I read the other day, that a couple of the big internet servers or some sort of email routing companies are feuding. Can't remember the two names, but seems one wants the other to pay them big bucks, since they say they are smaller now, and however that works, the companies have to be about the same size for the exchange of internet use for both companies. I know this is all jumbled and confused, but I can't explain it real well. See both companies allow the other to use THEIR internet " space " or wires, or whatever. Well, when one gets too big, this arrangement doesn't work somehow. So anyway, that supposedly cuts down on the routing of emails, so they have to go from the US, to say Paris, then Austrailia, then Belgium, then on to England, instead of just going straight to England, which would be much faster. OK, that's just an example, not really what would be happening, necessarily, but something like that, if you can understand what I mean? . Take care, Cin ----- Original Message ----- From: Steve D.
