My scar is very long also. goes below my navel since I had a hernia repair at

the same time. My scar did not change and I am almost 30 weeks. it does itch

soetimes at the top though but other than that, nothing different. I am 1 1/2

years postop.

I have a very long scar down the length of my abdomen from my surgery

July 2002. What can i expect from it now that I am 4 1/2 months

pregnant? will it stretch lengthwise? Itch bad? Ever go back to

normal? I have had a very dark and thick scar from the beginning and

it never really faded at almost 2 years post op. Just hoping to

prepare myself from any of you already there or through it. Thank you

I had a csection with my first child, just one year before my RNY. I

came home with an open wound 19 " long...and believe me, I HAVE

SCARRING! My OB says that I'm showing much sooner because I was

cut 'both' directions and to expect a lot of discomfort from the RNY

scar as my tummy gets bigger. I'm 11.5 wks along and I look like I'm

near 5 mths. Been wearing maternity clothes for almost a month.

Let me know how things go for you?

I only gained 18# and my scar wasn't affected whatsoever. I had a

previous c-section and had no probs at all. Maybe women who have

gained alot more weight w/ their pregnancies can tell you more?

Mine never itched and it was normal all throughout.

(about the only thing that was normal in this pregnancy! lol)

:D
