Guest guest
Hi everyone, I'm new to this group,as well. My name is Kathy and I'm the mother of a 5-yr-old non-RSS, and Willie, a 3-yr-old just diagnosed by Dr Harbison in December. Willie was very attached to the bottle, as well. Although, the comments came in occasionally suggesting he should be weaned, mostly the grocery-store stares did not due to his size. (He doesn't look like a 3-yr-old! Most people seem to want to argue with me about his age.) Anyhow, our feeding therapist and nutritionist had me try a zillion things to get the bottle away (3o cal GoodStart). He absolutely wouldn't take it from a cup. Nothing else could go in the bottle, either. I went with it because I just wanted him to take in calories. He went to the dentist last week and had no cavities. He also gave up the bottle and freaked us out for a few weeks as he became tired and weak from lack of intake. I wish he would still take the bottle. I love getting all your emails and I've got a zillion questions for all of you who know so much more than I do! I just thought I'd introduce myself and jump in on one subject. Are there any good books on RSS? Thank you all for all the info!! I feel so much better finding you. I wish it had been 3 years ago when Willie was first daignosed FTT. Kathy
