Guest guest
Hi Lorreyne. My name is Teri and i'm a 28 year old RSS Adult. I just wanted to let you know that i'm only 4'7 1/2 but I am just as independant as anybody else my age. I have worked the same job for almost 11 years and 6 of those 11 years I have worked 2 jobs. I have been out on my own since i was 20. I have driven a car since I turned 16. Even though I have RSS and very short, I have not let that stopped me from living a normal life. I'm not married (date often though) but I do know of several RSS adults that are married with kids. Of all the RSS adults I have talked to they all live a very " normal " life. I don't think your sister will have any problems either. If you want to email me and ask me anything, my email address is TMshorty75@... Guest guest
Lorreyne- I'm a 38 year old adult with RSS. I've married. I work as an Occupational Therapist and, like Teri, I've held jobs for years and years (I worked in a Psychiatry unit of a hospital for 11 years, and have been working in Home Health for 6 years), overall, am as normal as can be. Es no problema . -Sharon- 4'6.75 " 38 years, 1 day 94# despite birthday cake! Yay me!
Guest guest
Hi lorreyner My name is kim and i'm 25 and 4'3 " tall, I live in Scotland in the UK and have RSS. I live a relatively normal life and like terri i drive a car and have lived on my own (away from parents) for about 8 years now. I have some health issues but at present not sure whether they are due to RSS but I'm seeing an endocrinologist in MAy so will be able to update all members on the site soon. Feel free to email me any time. Welcome to the site. lorreyner lorreyner@...> wrote: Hi: I just found about the RSS-Support and at the moment became member.Iam so glad to have had found this,I needed to hear from others and share similarities and compare suggestions. I dont know where exactly to start? So many terms are just new to me, I need so much more to learn.I am 28 and my younger sister (14 years) is diagnosed with the RSS. My parents,my family we've known this long ago, somehow I think we could help improve in different ways, and am also concerned if my sister can actually grow up to live a normal life(specifically completly independent, married?)Im probably anticipating much, but as a woman and her older sister it does pass my mind and Id wish so much she could ; but the way I see her,Im just not sure. We live in Puerto Rico and dont know (at least not yet) of anyone else with the RSS. Sometimes I think that our resources here are very limited, the programs and services arent the best . I will gather more info, and share later on what exactly shes been through the history and pass this on.I would appreciate any kind of feedback and hope to hear and learn much more from this.
