Guest guest
Ivy, I am almost 30 weeks and having been getting Charlie horses at night as well. I get up and stretch my leg and rub it real hard until it goes away. They say it means that you are not getting enough water. I try to drink as much as I can but obviously I am falling short. I hope this helps. Have you asked your doctor? Would be curious to see what they say from a medical stand point. Guest guest
You might want to eat a banana a day for a few days and see if that curbs it. Potassium is a big culprit in leg cramps. -Kris Leg Cramps... Importance: High Hello everyone. I am almost 26 weeks and have been experiencing really bad leg cramps (Charlie horses) at night the past week. They are so intense and last for more than 10-15 minutes each time. Needless to say I am losing sleep and my butt is dragging during the day! They typically have been coming on about 3:30 am each morning. Walking, neither stepping on the cold floor nor stretching has helped elevate the pain! Any ideas on how to curb these and/or how I can be proactive in preventing them? Thanks in advance for any help. Ivy Kennedy
Guest guest
I had one last week that was a killer and I almost cried. i used to have them when I was a teen and they said it was lack of calcium I think, if I remember right. I would do a little research on the internet and see if there is anything that can help. God Bless, Robin, NorthEastern, NY Age- 41 EDD- July 27th, 2004 IT'S A BOY!!!!!! Guest guest
Ivy, I am 27 weeks and havent gotten leg cramps just yet.. I am praying they dont come with this pregnancy. I did get them really really bad with my Son though. They were so painful I would wake up and scream in pain. Nothing I took seemed to work but I did find one thing to help them go away!! I would take a can of like lysol spray or something that was in a really tough metal can and roll it under my foot between the ball and heal of my foot. I would do this standing up and step down as hard as I could (without bending the can of course!! lol and I was pretty heavy back then over 350lbs) or I would have my hubby or I would sit on my bed and press really hard with my thumbs rubbing the center of my foot... again between the balls of my feet and heal!! It is the only thing that seemed to relax the muscles in my legs and would allow me to go back to sleep!! Sorry I can't be more help but maybe its worth a try!! Good luck to you and I hope something helps I know how horrible cramps can be!!
