Hi Toi,

I share your concern, as I have been on percocet for migraines x 3

yrs. Wanted to let you know about a great organization

called " Motherisk " out of Toronto. They are the clearing house of

information/studies on drugs in pregnancy and breastfeeding. They

have a website and on it, you can read about the studies they have

done on specific medications.

I know that for sure tylenol (acetominophen) is safe, if taken

within the guidelines of no more than 1000 mg at a time (two extra

strength) and no more than 4000mg total x 24 hrs. As for codeine,

all you would have to do is punch it in the search spot and look it

up.

Their phone lines are open 9-5 EST and you will talk to a drug

specialist (pharmacist)...they do a bit of a history and are awesome

at answering your questions. The call is not toll free though, so

hopefully that will be okay. They DO have a toll free number for

nausea and vomiting questions though. It is an invaluable service as

they have much more conclusive information than even the CPS in

terms of what is safe in preg(the CPS is the Dr's bible of meds.).

Anyway, here is the information on how to contact this great

organization:

website: www.motherisk.org

Phone number: 1-, press option 9

There ARE safe alternatives for you, Toi...

All the best,

Hugs,

RN
