Guest guest
New to the group...I can't believe that after 10 1/2 years I am pregnant again!!! This was not planned however, we are thinking of the baby as a special blessing. I have a 10 1/2 and almost 12 year old and found out 2 weeks ago that my husband and I are going to be parents again. I was told I have the following high risk factors: age-35 WLS history of pulmonary embolism medicines I am on (Zoloft and Klonapin for OCD diagnosed 10 1/2 years ago with the birth of my daughter, we thought I had post partum that never went away.)(Also take Levoxyl, for thyroid) And the newest risk factor as of yesterday's Glucose testing, I tested high for sugar. Mine was 153. Still don't understand how I can be high on those numbers?! I was over 100 pounds heavier the last time I was pregnant and never had risk factors expressed to me at all. Thursday morning we have an appointment with a Genetic Counselor, Maternal Fetal Madicine High Risk Counselor, and diabetic Dietician. Talk about being a nervous wreck.... I know that God never gives us more than we can handle however, I am already near my limit.... Advise greatly appreciated, prayers welcomed!! Take Care. Guest guest
Congratulations on your pregnancy. There are going to be 13 years between my last and these two little ones I'm carrying, and we are beyond excited. Not sure what to tell you about the embolism and meds, but I'm sure your docs will work closely with you. Although our ages (I'm 36) certainly put us in a category beyond normal risks, I don't think being in your mid-30's should automatically be considered high risk. Your OB will likely want to check on certain health issues for you and your baby that are more prone to happen to women over 35. WLS also does not automatically make you high risk. Now if you've had problems before becoming pregnant, you may be higher risk, but not just based on WLS alone. My ob only considers me highER risk because of twins, but not at all because of my WLS. He is just more proactive about checking my blood levels. Good luck! Guest guest
SHARYN Wow...we do sound similar! Yes I am on 1 injection per day until 12 weeks postpartum!! With my last child 10 years ago...I was over 100 pounds heavier and they NEVER mentioned the risk of pulmonary embolism. Thanks for your support. Take Care.
