Guest guest
Everett just loves to have his feet touched, or to touch his feet to things, he almost uses them as hands, it's funny. I'd say just give her a little time to build up her strength, I'm sure she'll be fine but keep us posted! Evy just ran out the back door, I better go follow. See ya. s. Re: Grace's Update When Kelsey was first out of the cast after the tenotomy, she also had some issues witb weightbearing on her leg. She gradually did more and more and it took a little while for her to be back to normal with that. When she was in her DBB 23/7, that also caused her feet to be tender etc at fist so she was leery of putting them on the ground and putting her weight on them but it did go away. We are on nights only now and she is doing great!!!! Guest guest
, I am sooo happy for you and Grace! her braces sound so cute! i would love to see a picture! so sorry she to hear she doesnt like them very well. so she loves her feet too huh? samantha loves for you to kiss her feet and smell them. she thinks it is so funny. she too loved to show off her feet after a few days of being out of the casts. dont worry to much of her not wanting to stand, poor thing she's been in casts for so long. samantha's legs were very weak also and are just now starting to bulid muscle now that she has been out of her braces longer. this worried me too so when i called dr.p to ask him how her feet looked in the pictures he told me it was very normal for their muscles to be weak. not only all the casting they have been through but also being in the brace 23/7. dont worry she will be up and around sooner than you think. you will be amazed at how flexible they can be with the brace on. samantha also had the jelly like feel on her legs. i try to put her in her walker and stand her and walk her but she most likes to crawl and then stand up on her own. her daddy says she is not ready to go on her own yet. i know he is right but still feel that " i wonder if she is ok " feeling sometimes. im so glad to hear you two are doing well, so congradulations and hope your 23/7 goes by fast!! and Samanth BL CF 12/16/03 > > we took grace to dr dobbs in st louis friday... she got her casts > off and got her braces and they are a really pretty purple with > butterflies... so i am glad we picked that pattern... she is > tollerating them very well... she doesn't like them by any means... > but once they are on she's pretty much ok... cries her heart out > while i'm putting them on... she can finally take a bath though... > and she loves that.. she is amazed at her feet... amazed that she > has feet i think... when her shoes are off she keeps touching them > and pinching them... she likes for me to softly run my fingers all > over her feet.. and gets upset when i stop... i was trying to tickle > them and she ended up loving it... go figure... i was very shocked > and wondered if any one else had this happen... her legs were very > weak this time... couldn't even support her own weight... her knees > sway and wobble then buckle under her weight... last night after her > bath she was able to stand in place for over a minute before sitting > down.. and when she pulls up to furniture it takes a lot of > concentration to get her legs to work right... it's very strange... > all the other times she just jumped up to a standing position and > was fine... so i am a little concerned... just wondering if that was > a normal problem and how long that will last... she also has that > jelly feel in her leg muscles.. but she's out of casts for good > hopefully!!! thank the Lord for that!!! > > mommy to Grace 12-03-03 BCF

Guest guest
thanks michelle... she is getting much better about them... i was able to put them on her by myself this morning... without too much drama... and once they were on she was fine... i hate getting her up in the morning, taking them off just to change out of night clothes and into day clothes and then putting them right back on her to leave for work... all in a 10 minute span... but i know she will adjust... for some reason though she has been really cranky at night... she kicks and hollers when i try to get her undressed for a bath and then kicks and screams when it's time to get out of the bath... and i almost can't get a diaper on her she's so out of control... i am not sure what that is all about... i had to put her in her bed for a " time out " last night... she was just out of control...and she's never really been a cryer... so this is all new to me... i am going to give her a week or so and see if she gets better used to things... but she is very sweet and makes me laugh... i will keep you updated.. how is samantha doing with her reduced hours? mommy to Grace 12-03-03 BCF michelle andyandsamanthamom@...> wrote: , I am sooo happy for you and Grace! her braces sound so cute! i would love to see a picture! so sorry she to hear she doesnt like them very well. so she loves her feet too huh? samantha loves for you to kiss her feet and smell them. she thinks it is so funny. she too loved to show off her feet after a few days of being out of the casts. dont worry to much of her not wanting to stand, poor thing she's been in casts for so long. samantha's legs were very weak also and are just now starting to bulid muscle now that she has been out of her braces longer. this worried me too so when i called dr.p to ask him how her feet looked in the pictures he told me it was very normal for their muscles to be weak. not only all the casting they have been through but also being in the brace 23/7. dont worry she will be up and around sooner than you think. you will be amazed at how flexible they can be with the brace on. samantha also had the jelly like feel on her legs. i try to put her in her walker and stand her and walk her but she most likes to crawl and then stand up on her own. her daddy says she is not ready to go on her own yet. i know he is right but still feel that " i wonder if she is ok " feeling sometimes. im so glad to hear you two are doing well, so congradulations and hope your 23/7 goes by fast!! and Samanth BL CF 12/16/03 lisa --------------------------------- Celebrate Yahoo!'s 10th Birthday! Guest guest
, I solved the undressing and dressing problem by getting some carter pj's that unsnap all the way down and putting on clothing that does the same. No need to take off shoes.
