Guest guest
Zoe is by no means a " walker " yet (she gets about 4 steps in before busting a move), do you know when they consider reducing the hours? When I wrote to Dr. Ponseti about Zoe's bar hours some time ago he said when walking they can be reduced to 12-14 hours/day. I don't want to slack, but I would love to do the 12 hours so I can dress her in whatever I want, or already have left over from Rachael. I know it is petty, but I am kind of tired of searching for clothes with the snaps in both legs. Also, what kind of shoes are recommended for day wear? Thanks, Louisa Rachael 6-27-99 Zoe 2-22-04 RCF FAB 16/7 --------------------------------- Celebrate Yahoo!'s 10th Birthday! Yahoo! Guest guest
Louisa, I think Zoe will be walking in no time, so if you wanted to take them off a little early every now and then, by all means do it. I'll tell you however, I've been doing mostly 12 hr/d since Darbi started walking, and that recent post where Dr. P. was quoted 12-14 till they discard the brace has left me leaning toward the 13-14hr/d side ever since. When I can, I give her as many hours as possible. But if she gets 12 that's ok too. If she gets 10 every now and then, we make it up so it's not that big a deal. You can always put them on early at night too. As far as shoes, with girls this is difficult I think. Because girls don't usually wear high top boots but boys... well they're cutest in these kind of shoes. I would go with your gut as far as what she should wear, but I leaned toward the barefoot side and just let her wear the Robeez or whatever looked cute at the time. Don't put dangerous shoes on her, like thick soled sandals but a girl's gotta have shoes that work for her clothes and high top boots and dresses just don't work for babies. That See Kai Run has some real cuties, and the sole is soo soft and pliable they're a good choice for developing feet IMO. Darbi's up - gotta run have fun chasing her! Guest guest
Hi Louisa, Just a thought but after I started Grace on solids (as well as b/f), those lovley, unoffensive but sometimes very explosive poops stopped and I started putting her in dresses, leggings, everything basically. I found that I only Really needed the snappy clothes when I had to change her entire outfit (sometimes 4 or 5 times a day, little stinker hehe). Hope you do get reduced hours soon but until then, give those cute outfits a try, it is amazing how far you can get those leggings, jeans etc down when you have to change a stinky diaper! ) & Grace > Zoe is by no means a " walker " yet (she gets about 4 steps in before busting a move), do you know when they consider reducing the hours? Guest guest
Louisa, Kelsey is 16 months old and just got reduced to 12 hours. I don't have a lot of advice there because she started the Poneti method later than most and went down from 23/7 to 12 as she is starting to walk ) a few solo steps last night!!!). On the shoes, I bought some great shoes at www.preschoolians.com. They have a wide selection of many different shoes and they sold me one pair with 2 different sizes to best be able to fit Kelsey's feet. They are very soft but have a sole suitable for outdoor use unlike the Robeez. They also charge no shipping and have good customer service. If you need a pair with different sizes, just call the phone number provided and they will help you. I understand what you mean about the clothes, after our hours got reduced, I went out and bought Kelsey some pants with no snaps and some new pajamas. I could go forever without looking at something else that snaps at the legs.
