Guest guest
, It strikes me that his feet aren't completely corrected. Does his Dr. follow the Ponseti method to a " T " ? Does your son have short, fat feet with a lot of creases? There really is never a time " when the shoes won't work " if the feet are fully corrected. That is not to say that some kids don't need surgery later but that number is a very small percentage. What Dr. are you seeing? Are they trained by Dr. P? If I were you I'd take some pictures of his feet and send them to Dr. P. He'll know what you need to do and in fact will invite you to come see him if he realizes that your sons feet aren't fully corrected. You won't regret it. Chris Please HELP!! Guest guest
Hi , May I ask who your doctor is? I can't recall your previous posts... I'm not sure what you mean about the feet not looking that much better. Perhaps they're atypical? How old is your son? How many casts did your son have? How long has he been wearing the shoes? How many hours a day? If he hasn't been wearing the shoes, he may need to be recasted, but it sounds like you're not sure if your son's feet were fully corrected to begin with? For more about my daughter's story with pictures of her with her last cast and in her shoes, please see www.geocities.com/joannewalton2003/clubfootstory.html I think we need more info in order to advise you. If you don't keep the shoes on and the feet weren't fully corrected to begin with, if you don't get your son recasted, eventually the child will need some major surgeries, perhaps throughout his childhood if his feet keep relapsing. Hope this helps! Best, Joanne W. Message: 14 Date: Tue, 08 Mar 2005 01:28:38 -0000 Subject: Please HELP!! Guest guest
also contacted me off site because she also lives in VA. I told her to get a second opinion at Dr. Herzenberg and gave her all his contact info. I didn't hear back, so I don't know what her feelings are. , if you are reading these, please get a second opinion at DR. Herzenberg.
