Guest guest
Our cast tech, Bill , who recently moved to the midwest (Ohio?), did all of Zoe's casts alone. I don't think he's retiring... If anyone has him do your casts, you're lucky!! He was the one who went to train with Dr. Ponseti, not our doctor. When we switched to Dr. Herzenberg, he was very impressed with Zoe's casting. Guest guest
apparently in Uganda, all the casting is done by the cast techs. They're taught how to do it, and they do exactly as they were taught. This apparently is part of the reason they have such a high success rate there with this method. That and the parents are given the brace (Steenbek Brace - an inexpensive FAB any cobbler can make), told to have the child wear it and that's also exactly what the parents do. I've heard somewhere (on this list I'm sure) that they have a better than 95% success rate there because of these things.
