Guest guest
I finally broke down the other week and bought SNT and DMG. has been on the diet for a year now with only a regular vitamin supplement and flax oil. I've heard of all the benefits from all of you so I figured I'd give it a go. Well we tried the SNT powder and was awful. VERY aggressive, yelling at everyone he didn't like, slamming things and hyper so I stopped and once I did he returned to the regular old . Dave at Kirkman's said he would send me the hypo-allergenic form because he said that hyperactivity sometimes happens with the regualar form. Has any of the other things that I described happened to anyone here. What about DMG? We haven't used it yet but what about any side effects to that? Any info. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks MA

I have noticed Graeme has been more hyper than usual lately (talking obsessively, more stimming) - but I wasn't sure what was happening. Could it be the SNT? I can't think of anything else we have been doing differently. Elaine Mom to Graeme, 6, HFA, Galen, 4, NT and Amie, 25 NT > >
Guest guest
I haven't done anything differently except using the SNT so I assume it is that. I wish it wasn't but I know it has to be because it's been 2 days since he has been off of it and he is back to himself. MA

Ben had about two weeks of hyperness and lighter than usual sleep when we first started SNT so we added some magnesium with calcium and he settled down. After a week, I forgot the magnesium and he did ok without it, so I stopped. Ben was also very sensitive to DMG, he got a bit aggressive, irritable and started pinching. But he also increased his eye contact and started vocalizing more, so I switched to DMG w/ Folic acid and all the negative effects are gone. It has seemed worthwhile to figure this out, since he's obviously sensitive to changes in levels of vitamins and minerals, I take that to mean that the right combination will probably be effective. A reaction to a supplement seems to be a sign that I'm on the right track!
