Hi friends

I had to share a real nice thing today. I have been making hats and

booties for the newborn and special care nurseries. I took over a big

bag of them to the volunteer office and they were nice enough to take

me to the nursery, so I could see the babies and the nurses could

thank me. It is nice to feel like I can do something for others.

Laurie,

You are ALWAYS doing nice things for others. You are a very caring and

loving person and the best sister anyone could ask for.

Hi Laurie,

What a wonderful thing you are doing for the babies. I wish I had a

talent like knitting or sewing so that I could make blankets or hats

or booties like you do. But I lack the talent.

Going to the nursery and seeing the babies and the nurses must have

been a great feeling. You have a heart of GOLD Laurie and I know that

the nurses and those babies are forever grateful for their warm

booties and hats!!!

It is so nice to be able to give something to others and put a smile

on their faces. And I am sure that seeing those babies and the nurses

thanking you put a BIG smile on

your face too!! :-)

Hugs,

Ann-Marie

I call two older ladies that live alone for the Friendly Visitors Program

associated with Catholic Social Services here in Topeka, KS. I enjoy it and

when I had to be rushed to the hospital the one lady called and left a message

on my voice mail saying she had missed my calls even though another lady called

them. It was a nice welcome home. I definitely feel that I am contributing and

being useful in some small way. Dolores

Dolores

Thanks for sharing this. I feel very strongly that we feel better when

giving to others in any small way we can.

That was nice that you had the message that you were missed. It was a

nice thing to come home to.
