Guest guest
Well, I am currently not pregnant, as I have a 16 month old baby. I was suprised to get pg with him as I was only 7 weeks post RNY. I am now over 2 years post op, down 221 lbs and have a beautiful healthy baby boy! Guest guest
Getting pregnant for me was a TOTAL shock...I was on the birth control patch, I wanted no more babies. In fact, whenever someone mentioned having more kids, I told them " no way, my factory was shut down due to down sizing " LOL I had finally shed my fat body, and felt as though there was a whole new world to explore. But then I found out I was pregnant, and after the feelings of shock, resentment, and anger wore off, I began to get used to it. I'm starting to get excited about it now, but the thought of having 4 kids still scares the crap out of me I am 18 months out from my surgery, and had lost 130 pounds before I got pregnant. Guest guest
I was only 5 1/2 out from surgery and had only had sex 2x that month- only 1 of which wasn't being careful. Before WLS I treid fretility drugs and surgery for 2 previous years so yeah this was a surprise. The night " it " happened i said " Oh we have to be careful to try not to get pregnant until at least 1 year post op " Hubby said oh it it that time when you would be fertile - do you think it is ok. I said well you know me we have been married 18 years with nothing I'm sure this month wont make much of a difference any way it is too late now. Oh well Surprise! I am Due Sept. 10 and we could not be more excited. I do wish I got to goal first( I have 50 more lbs to go) but I will take this blessing any way I can get it. - Diane > Just a couple of questions I thought I'd ask...Just curious as to > whether this was a suprise or not??? Guest guest
My pregnancy was a total surprise. We had tried everything for about 7 1/2 years with no luck. I had my surgery 3-5-03 and had lost 132lbs and my doc was telling me I was ready for my tummy tuck. After alot of thought, my husband and I decided a baby just wasnt gonna happen for us and for me to go ahead with the tummy tuck. I went in for my pre-op test and they told me I couldnt have the surgery because I was pregnant. I think my first response was " How did that happen? " lol We could not be happier than we are right now. We are having a girl-which is what we were hoping for. I can not wait to meet her. I want to kiss her and hug her!!! I was 8 months post-op. I was 252lbs the day of my surgery and when I found out I was pregnant I was down to 140lbs. I lost another 12lbs after I found out making me at my lowest 128lbs, but I have gained 6 of the lbs back. Guest guest
My pregnancy was a total surprise as we were not trying at the time. I had my open RNY 11/7/00 and now am currently 3 years and 6 months out! I had great success with the pill after surgery for birth control and never had a problem with it. In August 2003, I decided to go off it (I had been on it since my 9 1/2 year old son was born) because I was struggling with those last 10 pounds to lose and thought it may help with the weight loss but also due to the length of time already on the pill worried me. We were very careful in the beginning... then it was literally the one time we didn't use a condom and I got pregnant!! LOL Have a great weekend everyone! Ivy Kennedy RNY 11/7/00 EDD 8/22/04-- it's another boy! Big brother Jake will be 10 yrs old 9/25/04.
Guest guest
Not a " complete " surprise. I was 10 months post op, down 120lbs when my pill Rx ran out. I needed to get into my Ob/gyn for my annual appointment, but because of my schedule and theirs, I couldn't get in a timely manner, so we went without contraception. It was a surprise in the fact that we had tried for 6 years to have another one (including clomid) and Dr. diagnosed me with secondary infertility. We had kinda resolved that it might not be in the cards for us to have any more, but fortunately that wasn't the case. We're due with #4 Mid-Nov. Guest guest
Hi Dianne. I was 2 years 3 months when we conceived. Not a surprise at all, our 'birth control' was mainly my dh's business trips, lol. We've daydreamed about this baby since we met 4 years ago. About 8 months ago, we traded in our Corvette, so that kinda cinched it---we were beyond ready!!!
