Doesn't Playskool make a plastic tricycle that is smaller? I know

that I used to see some very small ones at Toys R Us, but we had

already bought the smallest metal one we could find that the bike

shop owner had put blocks on it for us.

I'm not talking about HotWheels trikes. I know that Playskool or

FischerPrice makes something, or they used to.

Hi ,

We found a small tricycle at Walmart and a similar one at Toys R US.

I got my first tricycle when I was 3 and although I don't know

exactly how tall I was (that would involve talking to my mother.

Ick ), I know I was tiny because I was ALWAYS tiny .

Anyway, my first tricycle was standard size. My father put blocks

on the pedals so I could reach them. The trike had a step in the

back (this was circle 1969...I don't know if they still make them

this way, but it was the kind of step someone could stand on

and " pump " off of) and I used this step as a " ladder " to get into

the trike.

Hope this is helpful.

I had problems finding a small tricycle for my when he was younger too,

though he was a little bigger at the same age. We found that he fit better on a

small

bicycle with training wheels instead of the tricycle. I believe the smallest

bicycle they

sell is a 10 " one. I have seen these in Target & Toys R Us. We had somebody

who

makes custom therapy equipment for children with diabilities make special blocks

to

attach to the pedals. The wood blocks he made contoured 's sneakers &

had

a lip on the top & bottom to make sure his foot stayed in place with a velcro

closure

over his shoe. I believe we also had to adjust the handlebars so they leaned

closer to

the seat of the bike.

Hi ,

When we were looking for a tricycle for , we went to Toys R Us

and put him on every one. First, he will only fit on an upright

tryke, not anything where the pedals are in front of him (they have

to be below him). Second, we would up buying an actual bicycle

instead. Schwinn makes a teeny tiny bicycle that he fit on better

than any of the tricycles.

Good luck,

Judith, Steve, (RSS) and (non RSS) 4 year old twins

Hey Jeniffer!!

we got one called the KETTLER (it is made in germany) i got mine at

a yard sale, but a store down the mall by us has them (one of those

educational stores) this worked great for him it is low to the groun

and the seat adjusts forward or back instead of up and down so their

feet are closer. hope this helps. if they cant find it let me know i

will go pick one up for them and ship it to them!! every child needs

a tricycle!!!

We also have the Kettler. You can get a handle, too, for pushing them along.

Willie actually peddled really early, standing up. He's got serious gumption

because he could barely reach the pedals. Sometimes I 've wished he didn't

pedal so early because the doctors all took that as a sign that nothing was

wrong

and we waited 3 years for our RSS diagnosis.
