To the Mom Who Asked:

I forgot to tell you one thing. I TOTALLY understand where you are

coming from -- if your son seems perfectly happy right now at his

height, is giving him the GH shots the right decision. When I wrote

about him not being old enough really to make the decision, I didn't

mean that I didn't understand where you were coming from, in that if

he seems OK with being shorter, do you need to give the shots. Just

wanted to clarify that. But I did want to point out that these new

studies clearly show that GH has more than just an effect on

height.... every year more and more new stuff comes out. And yes,

I do get scared -- what if 10 years from now, some study comes out

showing something negative! I think every parent has that fear.

Right now, we make the best decision we can on the information we

have, and we constantly do more and more research, and reevaluate

our decisions.

your son.
