Guest guest
Greetings! Thank you all for posting...especially those of you we don't hear from regularly. That's me too! :-) It's great to learn who's out there and how close we are in proximity to one another and how close our kids are in age, etc., etc. Here I go: 1. , C. 2. Antioch, California (that's in the " Bay Area " about 45 miles East of San Francisco). 3. , 4 1/2 yrs old non-RSS, and 8 1/2 months, 10 lbs. and about 24 inches. 4. Born 7/3/03 at 39 weeks gestation. 3 lbs., 14 oz and 15 5/8 inches. Delivered by c-section due to fetal heart decelerations and decreased amniotic fluid. 5. Zantac is all he has been prescribed right now. Sees GI doctor for the first time next week. Seems to be an " eater " , at least for now..and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Spent a week in the hospital last month with RSV. 6. Dr. Garwin Soe, Pediatrician, Kaiser Permanente Antioch, Dr. Archana Mathur, Ped. Endocrinology - Kaiser Walnut Creek, Dr. ce Baskin, Ped. Urology, UCSF (for hypospadias), & Dr. Finley - Ped. Gastroenterology, Kaiser Walnut Creek 7. Diagnosed 3 days after birth by Dr. Baker, Medical Geneticist, Oakland Kaiser. spent 8 days in the hospital and was released at 3 lbs 10 oz when the doctors realized he would not gain weight at a " normal rate " and would probably do better at home. 's diagnosis was based on typical features or RSS (IUGR/SGA, clinodactyly, assymetry, carniofacial features, hypospadias, and syndactyly of toes 2&3) 8. The only other thing I'd like to add is how thankful I am for this site and for all the people who make it such a supportive place. Look forward to meeting you at the convention (my first) this summer!! God Bless, C.
Guest guest
What a blessing to get such an early diagnosis! Quetzie was in the hospital over 5 weeks, they were doing little more than watching her grow...painfully slowly. Finally when we were supposed to take her home, the doc said, well we would like her to gain a little more first. Thankfully, my husband very firmly told the doctor " Look, she is our daughter, we love her, we will take very good care of her, just let us bring her home. " Hesitantly, the doctor agreed...we took her home, and she did wonderfully of course:) A diagnosis earlier would have saved us weeks of hospital visits and agony, because otherwise whe was in perfect health.
