Roll Call - Sharon H. (RSS Adult)

1). Name - Sharon H.

2). I live in Orlando FL, about 10 miles east of Walt Disney World

but grew up in Brooklyn (1966-1976) and Staten Island (1976-2000) NY.

3). I have RSS. My birth date is March 14, 1966 and I am currently

38 years old, 4'6.75 " and hovering around 94#.

4). Birth height was 16.5 " , birth weight was 3#, 8oz. and I was 12

days overdue. I was born via C-section as the umbilical cord was

wrapped around my neck twice. As I wouldn't eat from Day One, the

doctors inserted an NG tube when I was a week or two old, which I

proceeded to pull out with my hands. After tying my hands back,

they re-inserted the NG tube, which I then pulled out with my feet.

My tenacious personality hasn't changed much . I was in an

incubator until my discharge at 59 days old, at 5 lbs., 1 oz.

5). Treatment for my RSS was never recommended, as I wasn't

diagnosed until several years after puberty.

6). I am not currently followed for my RSS.

7). I was diagnosed in the autumn of 1981, when I was 15 years old,

at a teaching hospital in Nassau County, Long Island, NY. I'm sorry

but I don't know the name of the hospital or doctor.

8). I am an occupational therapist who works in home health for the

VNA. I am happily married to Joe, who is a pharmacist for

Walgreen's. Joe is 1/4 " shy of being 6' tall .
