Guest guest
and all, We have been gfcf for almost 2 years and have not seen any dramatic improvement with the diet. I too recommend it to all parents, but I do not believe it works for all kids. We did challenge it a couple of months ago, but my son got very sick for 5 weeks and not knowing what it was at the time we decided to go back on the diet. It ended up being a severe sinus infection and we are currently challenging again with no ill effects so far. Kim

Guest guest
I TOTALLY Agree with you !!! In my opinion ( and it is my opinion only), from all that I have read and researched, the main problems with our diets today is that alot of the food that we buy is so laden with chemicals, preservatives, dyes, and hydrogenated oils!!! I really feel that this is the biggest issue with our kids diets and not so much the gluten and casein ( excess amounts of gluten and casein YES!). We are still CF, but I have started rotating Gluten back into my kids diets with no problems ( I really didn't see any real changes by going gluten free). I now only by organic and buy very little prepackaged foods and try to always rotate foods. I also believe that every child is different( some do probably need to be GF/CF). The main thing that REALLY bothers me about the GFCF diet, Is that alot of the foods on the acceptable list, I wouldn't feed my cat. ALot of these foods are prepackaged JUNK. Just my opinion Laurie > > I think it is a good idea to do both gf/cf and all natural organic food > whenever possible. The more research I do on chemical additives and food the > more scared I get. Like the atricle posted on margerine recently. AGHHH why > do they think this stuff is food? F

I thought the list is simply telling you whether it has gluten or casein in it, not whether it is really acceptable for your child. I would think that is more parental judgement. Just because dum dum lollipops are GFCF doesn't mean I will give my child 5 a day. My kids are eating better now then ever. Before GFCF Kraft mac. n cheese, processed cheese food slices, fast food nuggets were easy excuses for me. Thought of as kid food. Now I use the list to assist in finding what is GFCF but I am being very selective about what I choose from it. Debbie
