Guest guest
hi ginger, its jodie again, we just started christopher on ght this feb. we wanted to start it when he was 2 but at the time it wasnt the protocal for our kids so the insurance wouldnt cover it. that has since changed. if it would have been the case we would have started it back then. from what we were told the earlier you start the better it is. i am not an expert though and i am only going by what i was told by our endo. good luck on your desicion!! jodie (nicholas-6 nonrss, christopher-3 rss 23lbs 33 " ght genotropin .6, johnathon-9m nonrss)
Guest guest
Ginger, We only just started our son at the age of 10 (bone age - 6 months). We started later because his growth in height was OK (2 inches per year - following his own curve). However, he never did any catch up growth. We also know our son never would have dealt with the injections well when he was younger. I'm very happy with our decision, but I think the decision has to be made based on the size of your child and the current growth rate. Ultimately, I will say gather all the info you can from everyone and then go with your instincts.
