Guest guest
LOL...I get the feeling she is going to require several hundred pairs of shoes when she is older. She is warning you now Mommy to (12-17-98) and Christian (1-30-04) LCF - DBB (nights only) My daughter's first REAL word... You know, not mama, no or dada... a real word that sounds exactly like it's supposed to and not like a cheap imitation baby version of a word... is.... SHOE!!!! ROFLOL!!! She says it for lots of things even, but it's a real word so that's fine. She calls her feet shoe, socks shoe, the fish shoe... her FAB shoe, and of course her shoes are shoe. She asks for shoes all the time. LOVES shoes! That's my girl! Even kitty doesn't yet sound quite like kitty. But shoe... clear as can be! lol She's really getting better now at talking, and the words are starting to really take form. Most of this has happened in the past week. Daddy came home to a girl who could say shoe like she knew what she was saying... he too thought it funny it was the first real word. I expect to be able to converse with her pretty darn soon. She'll be 2 on the 28th so kinda late, but that's ok. She also peed on the potty twice now. But only if she's nakie, diaper doesn't work like that. She's run from the front room to go potty even! So we'll be going through the nakie baby peeing on the floor every once in a while stage here. Good thing I've got hardwoods! lol Kori

Guest guest
Kori, How cute. I guess if you think about it, that is one of the words that our babies have probably heard the most. " Time to put your shoes on, time to take your shoes off " . Claire just turned 1 and she knows exactly what I'm saying when I say the word shoe. I think that may be one of her 1st words also. About the potty training. I'm so jealous!! We are having such a hard time with my 3 yr. old. She just doesn't seem to feel when she has to go. It's getting so frustrating. Some days she does great and others not so great. I'm sure she'll learn sooner or later:) > You know, not mama, no or dada... a real word that sounds exactly like > it's supposed to and not like a cheap imitation baby version of a word... > > > is.... > > > > > > > SHOE!!!! > > > ROFLOL!!! Guest guest
My dh being a taxidermist, Everett's main word of the week is FISH. Everything is FISH, although it's coming around to Momma/Mommy/MOM. He can say tons of animal words though, kind of funny. s. My daughter's first REAL word... Guest guest
Too fun! Kids learn what they live around. My two year old used to sit on the floor (before he was walking) and cluck like a chicken laying an egg. Gotta love um Nat My daughter's first REAL word...
