Is it possible? Absolutely! my daughter crawled at the same age as our non-cf kids, wearing the brace full time. In fact, she crawled better with it than without it! (When it was off, say before a bath, she'd crawl and tip over.. guess the brace gave her balance.) She pulled to a stand early too, wearing it. And even learned to crawl up the stairs in it! It also helps babies sit upright early, I think.. the tripod effect.. and Claire, now 4 1/
Guest guest
O'h I agree 100%. I thought Ava was never going to crawl. Our first, Livi, crawled at 6mnths. Ava finally started to crawl (and then some) forward at 8/9mnths. She is standing up in the brace and climbing up at least one step. Once she found a way to go forward that was it. She had been up and rocking for so long, going every which way but forward. I can hardley believe it! When we hold her hands she tries to walk in the brace and without it. I am truly amazed. I don't think it prohibits them at all. It may take them a little longer but in the end they get the hang of it. Guest guest
My son not only crawled with the DBB on, but he walked with it on, went downstairs with it on and climed out of his bed with it on at 20 months. Don't think for one minute the DBB will stop them from doing anything! Unfortunately it doesn't slow them down, ha! > > has mastered the roll-over manouver and i saw him on all fours > yesterday (only for 5secs though!!)... this got me thinking.... did your kids crawl > with their DBB's on? Guest guest
Wow! Thanks for your responses everyone... All your kids sound really amazing! I am constantly impressed at how kids just adapt their instinctual behaviour around any obstacle they come across! Im enjoying at the stage he's in currently. He's such an active baby- im going to need rollerskates once he starts crawling!!
