Hi Debbie,

No shots are absolutely required by law, not even in NJ! I would get the dr

to do a blood draw and check his titers - the level of immunity he already

has for MMR. It is easily done and processed through his lab - normally no

more than 3-4 days to get results, then you will know if your son is already

immune and will not need a shot. You will need to sign the waiver for

Kindergarten though, but at least you will have a report that says he is

already immune.

Someone is also mixed up about his shot records too. I keep a

well-documented list of EVERY shot my 2 kids have had (cause frankly, they

are not getting any more) that has their maker, lot number and everything on

it. No one can tell me they did/or did not get a shot - I have my paper

right here.

We are in PA and when my oldest enters Kindergarten next year, we are

getting a religious exemption for her 2nd booster shots of DPT and MMR, she

received neither, but tested sky high in her titers for immunity to both, so

really they are not needed at all, she is already immune.

I suggest running titers on him.

Penny
