Vent-horrible morning and MDA chat

Hi all

I had an appointment for an epidural this morning. It usually takes me

about 1-1/2 hours to get there and I leave extra time for whatever - I

got it this morning. There was a detour, so I got lost. I asked one

person who had me go in the opposite direction. Second person gave me

directions. I then had road construction - stop and go, and then an

accident - more stop and go. When I got there there were no parking

places, much less one that I could get my ramp out, so I ended up

parking about a block away. Once there, they said my appointment had

been changed to next week and were surprised that I hadn't been

called. They took me in anyway. My then, it had been 2-1/2 hours since

leaving home and then the drive back. I have another appointment about

a half hour away at 4:30. I am exhausted.

If any of the moderators for the MDA chat are going to be there,

please let me know as I will probably go to bed early if someone will

be there.

Dear Laurie

I do hope your epidural will give you some relief, that subsequent

visits go smoother, and that you can get plenty of rest in the next

couple of days. It is very frustrating to have to go through that kind

of stuff. I really try to space out my tests and visits because I get

so drained, physically and emotionally, from some of these things. I

so admire you for keeping your cool and having positive suggestions for

everyone. And even your " vent " was low key! I wish you peaceful days

as the holidays approach. Take care.

Laurie,

I am sorry you had such an ordeal yesterday morning. Hopefully

the epidural helps and can show something good for the day. I am glad

that they got you in and didn't make you come back the next week.

Take care of yourself and rest!

Smiles,

a

Sorry your Monday morning went so badly. Hopefully the kind wishes

of friends and the upcoming holidays will minimize the memory of the

trials you went through.

One thing I told my mom multiple times is that the world will still

go 'round if she misses an appointment or commitment. If you don't

get enough rest and take care of yourself in the short-term, you

won't be available for future chats so missing one week should be

weighed against the potential of missing many...
