Guest guest
Hi Jodi Do you ever keep the extension line attached to Max's button. I know its not ideal, but, you could drain into a cup or something before a feed, to clear the line of anything that has been sitting in it, and it wouldnt go all over his clothes. Then clamp the line to attach his feed. Hope this helps, thinking of you guys. Jody PS I know those extra loads of washing can be the last straw!! Guest guest
Jody, It's a good idea, but Max does not have the button yet. He has to wait a month to have it placed. Right now there is just the tubing and there is no valve to stop the fluid from leaking out. He had another disaster at school this morning. Just when I think we have it figured out... Jodi Z. Guest guest
Hi Jodi Is there enough line for Max to kink it over before he connects? Working in haemodialysis, we often do this to the blood lines when we cant find a clamp, we use small sissor like clamps that occlude the line when we are running patients on and off. Do you have a stoma nurse who may be able to give you something to occlude the line when you open it. How frustrating!! Are you on the gastrostomy support site with yahoo? Maybe someone there can help. Hope you find an answer Jody > Jody, > > It's a good idea, but Max does not have the button yet. He has to > wait a month to have it placed. Guest guest
Jody, We do kink the tube before we open it. But there is fluid leaking out when we are not using it. It makes a mess, and Max just hates getting his clothes wet. I don't blame him. I did not know there is a gastrostomy support group listserve. I will look into it now. Jodi Z.
