Guest guest
After having my biopsy in May, I finally have results. Of course, it was negative. As you may recall, they said my tissue was mislabeled. So,I am not sure I trust my results. My neuro says it doesn't really change anything as far as how I am being treated. They only did 2 tests- one was the lipid test and something else- I can't remember. My neuro said she really wasn't sure what tests to order but felt like the two she ordered were the best ones. I told her that I had read that with the lipid drops on the biopsy that that is a finding in mitochondrial myopathy. She said she would probably classify me as having a myopathy- non- specific. I also asked her about having frozen vs fresh biopsy but she did not seem to know much about the difference. But I really don't want a third biopsy. I also asked her about different tests such as the forearm ischemia test to test for lactate but she said she had done that one other time on another patient and it really wasn't helpful. I don't know if I should just let it be knowing I have some type of myopathy or what.
