Hey Kim,

My oldest child used to projectile vomit when she was young. The Drs never

worried about it as long as she was gaining and growing. It gradually went

away as she got older.

A friend of mine's baby (now 10 months old) had the same problem. The Dr had

them try the " rice cereal in the bottle " routine, and they had the same

problem as you are experiencing. She spent the majority of her day

screaming, and seemingly in pain. For months, the Drs told her that rice

cereal was the easiest to digest, and that it couldn't possibly be the

problem.

Well, one night Dad was making formula, and discovered that they had run out

of the rice cereal. It was late, and Dad didn't want to make a run to the

store, so he just put Oatmeal in the formula instead, without telling Mom.

By the time they had used up that quantity of formula, the baby had stopped

most her screaming, and seemed to be doing much better! Dad, not wanting to

deal with a possible argument from Mom, continued to make the baby's formula

for the rest of the week, using the Oatmeal instead of the Rice cereal. By

the end of the week, he confessed to what he had been doing. They tried the

rice cereal in one more batch of formula, and within two bottles, they had

their screaming baby back. They ditched the rest of the formula, told the Dr

what had happened, and have been using Oatmeal cereal ever since. Maybe this

will help?
