If you are breasteeding, estrogen patches will reduce your ability to produce milk dramatically. Excess intra-cellular estrogen is the reason that so many morbidly obese women who do manage to get pregnant go on to have trouble breastfeeding their babies, like I did. I had to move heaven and earth, pumping the side Joanne wasn't nursing on and taking two herbal supplements and one drug (domperidone) to produce enough milk for my daughter.
