Sho,

from what I have been learning lately, approximately 30% of the

gastric bypass patients develop " metabolic bone disorders " and of

course, I am in that 30%. I printed off an article about that same

topic yesterday at work, and it was 53 pages long. I can post the link

as soon as I find it again.

:)

I know you asked specifically about Rheumatoid and that is

joints/cartilage and not " bone " , but they are all bone related so here

are the links I was referring to.

I have severe long bone shaft pain, mostly both humerus's (upper arms)

and bilateral hip bone pain. I told my mother 18 months ago that if I

didn't know better, I would think I had " bone cancer " .

Just now, a year and a half later, I am finding out about, " Metabolic

Bone Disease "

I hope I can start feeling better now that my pain has a name!!!!!

My specific rhematoid labs were all normal, but I told them it was my

shafts, not my joints, so I was pretty sure it wasn't RA or rheumatoid

related.
