Guest guest
I've met alot of people who have autistic children and they range from rich to poor, black to white, and successful to lazy. Autism doesn't discriminate. My husband has a great job which he has worked his butt off for and I am currently in college to get my degree. I'm sure that there are some bad situations out there but I'm sure everyone in the group would agree that parents outcome in life as professionals or a worker at Mcs has no effect whether or not your child will be " normal " or not. Sorry but that sounded kind of offensive. MA
Guest guest
Oh, , I'm so sorry! I never meant to offend anyone! Please forgive me, and I'm sorry to everyone that we've gotten so far off topic. I had heard that a disproportionate number of parents of autistic kids were educated professionals, and wondered if anyone else had heard that too. I am really new at this... was just diagnosed a little over a month ago on March 15th. Sorry that I clumsily offended people on the list. It really wasn't my intention. You've all been so great at helping us get started implementing this diet 5 weeks ago. I appreciate each of you, and we are all unique with very unique experiences. Again, I'm sorry. H, mom to 3 yrs, PDD; and 23 months BTW my husband sells real estate (no college degree) and I worked hard for my nursing degree...no free rides here either! ) Sorry but that sounded kind of offensive. I didn't want to alienate anyone. I understand about the crazy week too! We've been pretty crazy around here too...we took to the PDD clinic at UCSF yesterday. Take care, and thanks again! Hugs, H Re: for LISA H - re:parents of autistic kids as professionals? H, Don't worry about it. After I read the e-mail again I realized that I probaly took you out of context.
