Angel,

Please forgive me as my mind is a little fuzzy, but I assume this

was a blood preg test you had done since you got a number of 7, right?

Are you certain this isn't just a little of the hormone remaining in

your system since it's only been a month? At our hospital, any level

less than 5 is considered " not pregnant " . There are many charts that

give hcg levels, but there are just as many differing opinions on

matters such as these. I don't want to get your hopes up or dash them

at all, but basically all you can do at this stage is wait..... which

is an awful & terrible worrying about the " unknown " .

Every woman is different and there are just as many opinions on

various subjects as there are women, but I was inseminated on Feb

15th. I cannot establish the exact " date " of fertilization, but I

estimate it was the 16th or 17th. My blood hcg level 10 days after my

probable fertilization date was 54. Presuming your cycle is regular

(every 28 days) and presuming you had a period 2 weeks after your

miscarriage on 5/1, that would make you ovulating around 5/14-5/15

making you about 18 days past ovulation. Everyone is sooooooooo very

different, but I would " think " being 18 days past fertilization should

make your HCG higher than just a 7. I would think it would be able to

be deteced at this time with a urine preg test OTC that most register

Hcg levels as early as 25-50.

as I said, every woman is different- each month can be different, each

pregnancy and the way we respond to pregnancies and miscarriages etc.

I dont want to get hopes up or dash your hopes, but I would ask for a

repeat hcg level every 2 days and see if it goes up or down and this

should tell you preg or not.

I wish you the best!

Sheila

(I am tired as you can see by my post-typing each step as I was

thinking it through in my head. I'm sleep deprived since my parents

home was destroyed by the floods on Sunday)

Hi...HCG levels...I think I could have held the name " HCG Girl " for

some time. I was at the hospital every two days for two weeks trying

to determine if this was a viable pregnancy or another miscarriage.

My body took forever (nearly 11 wks) to get my level back to 0 the

first time. The second m/c it took 6 wks. Dr's wouldn't perform a

D&C on me because I am so severly anemic - they were sure that I'd

hemorage terribly.

I would ask that your blood is drawn every 2-3 days...monitor it and

see if the HCG is doubling as it should be.

This was the only way that we were able to tell that I was pregnant

twice and m/c twice. My levels were very low...rising but not

doubling. I had no bad signs WHATSOEVER and my m/c's

(bleeding/cramping) only lasted for an hour or so.

This time (I'm 14 wks) my levels were low at 5 wks...but they were

tripling every 48 hrs. Instead of 'dropping off' at or near 12 wks,

they stayed steady at 8wks.

I respect the opinion of my doctor, especially when it comes to hcg

counts. He said not to put too much emphasis on them because the

charts are so broad...as long as they're doubling every 36-56

hrs...things look okay.

Hope this helps you out a little.

PS My best friend just delivered her fourth child. Her hubby is in

the military (so they change residencies and dr's often) and she's

had to argue with the dr's EVERY time. They say she's not pregnant

because the BLOOD tests come back negative...sure enough...about 6-9

wks her counts are off the charts.

Hang in there and keep everyone updated!
