Guest guest
I hope every one had a good thanksgiving! Duane has been having the home health group coming to help with choking, balance, etc We now have a hospital bed,( he is incontinent) bedside commode, transfer shower chair, walker, and I already have had two wheel chairs but they got us a cushion, so that his bottom doesn't get so sore. Friday he fell between the shower and the commode, He cut his head he has a fairly big lump and he broke a rib, he is in allot of pain and his condition has worsened mental, physical and his appetite has decreased he has lost 9 lbs in a short time. his bp was 96/60 this morning at the drs and this after noon with the nurse it was 86/57 his body temp runs around 94 .7, he sleeps about 18 hrs a day on and off he does get up and is very confused. I took him to his DR today and he said that it is time for hospice to come in. I have so many emotions running thru me that I am over whelmed Duane filled out his health care directive when he was diagnosed so I know what he wanted absolutely nothing invasive. but I am having a hard time this is so sad it just makes me sob. I know that this could go on for some months and I am glad for the help that hospice will bring but I am not ready for this faze of our journey. Please pray for us Thanks for listening HUGS Jan

Guest guest
Jan, I read this message from you with a heavy heart. I am so sorry. I have been in awe of your strong support for Duane since you joined this list - probably 2 years ago or perhaps more. You can hold your head high for everything you have provided him and others on this list. We are here for you always and if prayer is what you are now seeking for strength to go thru this part of the journey, please know that I will keep you all continually in my prayers. I hope you are remembering to take care of yourself too as this is as important as taking care of everyone else. We are always here when you need our support too. Please don't forget that. Hugs! Guest guest
Jan I am so sorry to hear this about Duane. It must be very hard on you. I understand not being ready for this. I do think that Hospise will not only give you help with Duane, but give you support and help in dealing with all that is going on. You are both in my thoughts and prayers. laurie > I hope every one had a good thanksgiving! > > Duane has been having the home health group coming to help with choking, > balance, etc > We now have a hospital bed,( he is incontinent) bedside commode, transfer > shower chair, walker, and I already have had two wheel chairs but they got us > a cushion, so that his bottom doesn't get so sore. > > Friday he fell between the shower and the commode, He cut his head he has > a fairly big lump and he broke a rib, he is in allot of pain and his > condition has worsened mental, physical and his appetite has decreased he > has lost 9 lbs in a short time. > his bp was 96/60 this morning at the drs and this after noon with the nurse > it was 86/57 his body temp runs around 94 .7, he sleeps about 18 hrs a day > on and off he does get up and is very confused. > I took him to his DR today and he said that it is time for hospice to come > in. > I have so many emotions running thru me that I am over whelmed > Duane filled out his health care directive when he was diagnosed so I know > what he wanted absolutely nothing invasive. > but I am having a hard time this is so sad it just makes me sob. > I know that this could go on for some months and I am glad for the help > that hospice will bring but I am not ready for this faze of our journey. > Please pray for us > > Thanks for listening HUGS Jan > > > > >
