Guest guest
Hi all: I have a quick question (quick because I have a 2 yr. old and a 12 wk. old). Our son was born (12/27/04)w/unilateral club foot and had his last cast (9th) removed this past Friday (Ponseti method). The dr. gave me the scrip for the DBB and I have contacted the place we are to go get the bar, but they have not called me back yet to set up an appt. I had to first fax the scrip and my insurance info. (they need to contact my ins. co. for a certification). Anyway, I've contacted them over the last two days, and my concern is that we are waiting too long to get the shoes on him. I'm worried his foot will revert back. Any comments/experiences. Thank you. - a
Guest guest
You need to go back to the Dr. and have him re-cast. How long did he wear the last cast? What, if you know, was the reason for so many casts? Was he considered severe? If so, it's imperative that he not wait less than a few hours at best to start wearing the FAB after the last cast is removed. Even if not, same. FAB goes on immediately after the cast or he stays in casts. They should have ordered the shoes for you weeks ago. Just have him casted tomorrow, before the weekend comes and he should be able to wear that cast till the shoes and bar come in. Don't leave their office unless he's in a cast, but I'm sure if you tell the doc about this they will be happy to re-cast him. Good luck and great job there mama! Tell them you don't have time to mess around risking relapse, you got babies to take care of and that's more than enough lol. And welcome :~} I don't remember seeing you here yet but my mind is a blurr anyway. Kori Darbi - 2yo on Monday! Rt.
