Guest guest
Robin, It sounds to me as though you're describing MY life. My oldest daughter (now 10 -- she's lucky she's lived this long, that's what) is exactly the same way. Makes life hell for us moms, because it's so easy to convince yourself that you obviously must suck at motherhood if your kid does this stuff. Well, lemme assure you that they all pop out with this stuff coded into them!! Sure, there are things we can do as parents to guide them in the general right direction, but this kind of stuff is part of their DNA. Some days I just hang my head and declare that I did NOT sign up for this and that I'm ready to let someone else deal with Her Majesty. God keeps reminding me that He gave her to me because she needs me, and I need her, and it helps (a little). Feel free to vent about it, girlfriend, 'cuz you ain't alone. Guest guest
Robin!!! You are not giving those of us who just had our girls much hope here!!! LOL!! I was just telling hubby yesterday that now that Hannah is 7 weeks and her little personality is coming out I can totally tell that she is going to be stubborn, just like her Mama! LOL! This girl is definitely taking after my Sicilian family without a doubt! My niece, (my twin sis' only daughter) is 16 and she is such a drama queen, I get a phone call at least once a week with her crying " AUNTIE! I can't take it here any more, you HAVE to let me come live with you!!! " Of course I calm her down and tell her that she will always have a place to stay here if she wants to come, I then ask her about other stuff going on in her life like friends or her job and moving is nearly forgotten, until the next time, LOL! My sis and I were 16 when my niece was born and now my niece is 16 when my daughter is born so the age difference is the same, I can't wait until Hannah is 16 and calling my niece bitching about how awful it is with me, LOL!! I tell my niece about this and to expect it when it happens and she doesn't believe me because I'm so " cool " , but I'm not foolish enough to think it won't happen. Maybe your daughter needs to learn to not start bitching until Mommy has had at least one cup of coffee. Hang in there sweetie, the day will get better. At least thats what I tell myself when Hannah won't stop crying, LOL!!!! Axelrod My daughter is such a brat I swear this kid is going to drive me to a breakdown.
