Just wondering if it is normal the first few weeks of pregnancy if it

is normal to have slight pains around the area where the ovaries are.

I was just wondering if this is something that is normal or do I need

to call my doctor? Also, is it normal to have a lot of gas? I have

had gas pains for about a week now and I am approx 5 weeks along.

Anything you can tell me would be great. Thanks!

I had that same thing.. and still do on occasion.. and I have been

assured by everyone that it's normal! there are two ligaments on

either side of the uterus - about where the ovaries are.. and as the

uterus grows.. they stretch and can be quite uncomfy! I can go a

while without the pain.. but OY! I can also really tell when my

little one is going through a growth spurt too! he/she is measuring

about 8 days ahead of the EDD... so yeah, it's been growing a lot!

I am a 1st time mom too!!! Hang in there!!

e, these are good ole ligament pains, you feel them right next to

your hip bones right? It's one of the textbook symptons, though a

couple of times they were severe, but my NP said as long as there was

no spotting or pain elsewhere in the abdomen, it was o.k.

& yes, I'm a scared (& excited) 1st timer myself.

Glad to help in any way. I understand 'feeling lost' & am grateful

also for help from more experienced moms:-)

Yes, bring a little notebook to your appt with any & all ?s. I

bombarded the NP @ my 7 week appt, she answered everything from the

caffeine to the artificial sweeteners to exercise ?s. I probably made

her nuts, lol.
