Guest guest
My son is almost 7 mo old. He's been in the shoes and dbb since November 19th. His feet look great, but what I've noticed when his shoes are off is that his legs look bowlegged. When his is in the shoes and dbb, he is so stretched out (looks long and thin). However, when his shoes and dbb are off, he looks bowlegged. Is that common?

I would make sure that the bar length is not too wide.. what rotation are the shoes set to?

Guest guest
yes, 70 degrees is right. i'm sorry my earlier reply was so brief (i was in a hurry then!) the reason I mentioned what I did was that, one time, when my daughter was older than your son, of walking age, her bar was made too wide for a short time, and it caused her non clubfoot leg, whose shoe was set at a 40 degree angle, to develop a slight bowleggedness.. once the bar was adjusted right, it went back to normal very quickly with no harm done. realizing, now, how young your baby is though, i think what you are seeing could just be normal baby legs.. they often look that way, I think.. curved in a bit, before they start bearing weight and walking. Maybe you are just noticing it, and seeing it as a difference because, with the brace on, the legs look so straight by comparison. I want to assure you that babies wear the brace for long periods with no ill effects.. my daughter is still in hers, at 4 1/2 (sleep only) and has beautiful, straight, strong legs, and feet, on which to run, dance and do anything. But it certainly wouldn't hurt to ask your doctor about it next visit if you continue to be concerned! hope this helps, > > 70 degrees.
