Guest guest
Here is my official introduction... My name is . I had my WLS August 18, 2003. I just found out I am pregnant! I am just over 4 weeks. I humbly request everyone to say a little prayer for me. I am 39 yrs old. I have a 20 yr old son and after I had him, I have had 8 miscarriages (I truthfully have lost count). After my last miscarriage (Dec 2001) I was diagnosed with an Antithrombin III deficiency. Basically, I had been clotting off my placenta and then I would miscarry. I have already started on the Lovenox...I would love for Sharyn and Chrystal to send me more info. I thought I should take it twice a day (that is what my previous OB had said) but my doc has me taking it once a day. My problem list also includes MS. I was diagnosed in 1997 and luckily no problems with that. So far things are fine. I am a little tired, but with my history...If I am able to carry a healthy child to term...I will gladly deal with any of the " little complaints " of pregnancy. (if you hear me complaining...please remind me that I said this). I have already talked with my WLS...He gave me the " I wish you would have waited longer " talk...but then told me that he is happy for me if it is what I want. I have conferenced with the dietician as well. I go to my OB doctor on Tuesday, and I am sure he will refer me to the perinatal specialists. I would like to know what you all have done as far as vitamins. I read online in a few places that WLS patients should take a prenatal in addition to the two chewables they normally take. My surgeon said to take two prenatal vitamins...and the nutritionist said one chewable and one prenatal. Also, What have you all done in regards to eating? Protien intake? Calories? I am looking forward to learning more about all of you. I appreciate the chance to be in this group... Guest guest
, Congrats on your pregnancy and I have already sent prayers up for you and your little one. Did you have your wls in AZ? I had my surgery with Dr. Zahn there in 2001 but have since moved to MN and just gave birth to my first child, my daughter Hannah 7 weeks ago. Since I was a new post op I have taken 2 chewable prenatal vitamins daily and all along my blood work came out fine. From what I understand chewable prenatal vitamins are only by prescription so you need the doc to write a script for them. Axelrod New to the group (from Arizona) Here is my official introduction...
