Guest guest
Thank you. I thought he would be OK, just wanted to know if it was 'normal' for our special babies when they are learning to walk. Thanks again Sharon jennyandkelly jenrichtrevillian@...> wrote: Hi, Sharon- We used to have this discussion come up quite often on this board years ago- and I'm surprised that it hasn't been discussed more recently! Yes, it's perfectly normal and will go away! We referred to 's initial walking as " Charlie Chaplin " -like. I can assure you that it's completely expected, and over time his foot will turn forward when he walks and he'll have a normal gait. I can't tell you how long- just be assured that it will happen. It's so gradual, that you won't even notice it. Eventually you'll just see that it happened! No worries! IYKWIM. But it is only the right foot that is out and he doesn't exactly lift it with every step, he drags it most of the time. He steps with his good foot normally. > > Our orthopedic doctor said he might walk a bit funny, but I did not know what to expect and didn't ask roughly how long for, but I guess we are all individuals and he'll walk however he wants to as long as he is getting somewhere. > > I would be interested to hear how your little one started walking and if there was any difference between a CF and non CF baby. I honestly can't remember how my first son moved his legs when he started walking. > > Thanks > Sharon > Charlie 28th Dec 02 > Billy 20th April 04 RCF DBB nights only > > > > --------------------------------- > Find local movie times and trailers on Yahoo!
